I'm still looking for a car and I've run the gamit on the C4's L98/LT1's. For the money, I guess the C5 is a much better deal. I've upped my spend to around $20K. Any advice on where to find a quality C5. Not too concerned on mileage as the car won't be a daily driver. Any advice?

Enjoy the search. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. As far as getting a C5 even with high mileage, the lowest I have seen them go for is about $23,500 for a '98 coupe that had 89,000 miles on it. From a 1 to 5 with 5 being the best I rated it a 3. It was torch red with tan leather interior. Unless you find a private owner who is motivated to get rid of his Corvette, you may have to come up a few thousand more. You have to realize that these C5's are going to hold their value more than the C4's, exception being the ZR1's, especially when the C6's come out and are priced much higher. When that happens it will generate an increase in used Corvette values. You could find a 1990 or 1991 ZR1 now for between $19-$23K with around 40,000 miles. That would be the best buy in the C4's. Plus, it will increase in value in years to come because of limited production and uniqueness of the car. Basically, any low mileage Corvette with around 7,000 to 20,000 miles in any year will always demand $10-$15K more because of condition. And, actually a low mileage Vette today is a rarity because Vette owners love to drive their Vettes. The market will always demand higher for low mileage garage queens. But, you could appreciate that and the owners dedication of taking care of it. The Z06's will definitely hold its value in years to come, like the ZR1's and will demand more on market value. Not just because its a Z06, but because it's the first fixed roof hardtop with a trunk in Corvette history. I project that the Z06 will never go below $30,000 no matter what condition and mileage. Expect higher numbers with very low mileage and mint condition Z06's. I also project that the 2002 EB Z06 will be more in demand than the '01, '03 and '04 because of the rarity of the color and some people don't like the last year commemorative edition stripes, even though it will be low production.
I would suggest that you look into a ZR1. If you go to the ZR1 net site, there is a section for 1990 to 1995 ZR1's for sale.

If you have any questions, just email Dave Bright. Tell him you're a member of FatherLarry's Corvette Shop and he can guide you in the right direction. That would be the best bang for your buck, and a car that will increase in value. It's also a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

As always, thank you for your advice. I hadn't considered a ZR1 up till now and will check out the ZR1 site. If you run across any C4's or ZR1's that might look interesting please let me know.
