Picked up a 2004 Mustang Mach 1 Dark Shadow Gray Metallic. Limited production for only 2003-2004, but they already stopped production and plant was closed down in November.

The seats are still covered in plastic. Are you saving it for something. Is it faster then your vette.

Michael,

Welcome aboard! Since our American steel pony cars and sports cars are slowly disappearing we need to stick together. Your enthusiasm is no different than Corvette owners. I'll try to get you a pic of both cars. I don't really have any of the two together except whats at the link above. I can, however, do a background on my image composer for you. Again, thanks for joining. We are proud to have you on board.;bt

Hey Finwolf, the plastic stays on so I don't get drippings from the cheese steak on the seats. As far as the times on the Z06 compared to the Mach 1, statistics show 12.4 to 12.6 for the Z, and a 12.9 to 13's for the stock Mach. Of course, from what I have been reading about the dohc Mach, some good mods can bring it up to low 11's. Totally two different cars. Handling on the Vette is superior in cornering, and also quarter mile, but the dual overhead cam on the Mach makes up on the straight run. Both fun cars to drive. I do wish the Mach had a six speed. Maybe next year.

Welcome to the forum on d bit. Awesome mustang that Mach 1. A baby ZR1:lol: Best looking mustang that Ford has made yet. It has classic lines, classic engine and limited production. One of the lowest production Mach 1's ever to be made.

Good luck with your new ride Fatherlarry, and yours too, on d bit, great choice in color. Looks like a silver bullet. Makes the mustang look more expensive and exotic.

Yes we should try and get together before the weather gets bad. We were thinking about a trip to Longwood Gardens again this year or just out for a local dinner. I saw Gary & Joyce on our Chicken Bar-B-Q run and they picked up a nice midyear. We should go over to Gary's to check it out.

I wholesaled out my brand new 2004 Mach 1 Mustang with 57 miles on it to buy a pristine, fully loaded red 1998 Corvette Coupe, with two tops for more money. I like the Mach 1, but I was trying to re-live my 1970 Mach 1 cobra jet, but it wasn't the same feeling. They're great cars for the money, but a Vette is a Vette. I hope you know what I mean.

Daviszr1, I wish we can get more members like Tom to join our site. Maybe Tom can put a good word in for us, telling other members there about our website. We sure could use the help.:usaribbon

Isn't it hard to get a feel for a car by only driving it 57 miles? I guess sometimes you just know. And don't sweat it if someone else is on another forum, heck, I'm on corvette forum also, but I still come here too ;bt I have 4 forums that I visit each day and each is good in it's own way.

I had a 2002 mustang GT already. Thats how I knew. Not that much of a difference, except for rear suspension and shocks, as far as the feel.

And I'm really glad that all you Corvette Forum members are visiting me too.. :usaribbon :smoke:

13.7-13.3 would be the best 1/4mi times for a Mach 1 and they would have to made down south where the air is a bit better. Machs are great cars but not a real comparison to your Z06. BTW, the Z06 you have is the nicest color i think you can get ona vette. Makes me drool!!
