How much is this gonna cost us? The winery show cost me over thirty bucks with the tour.

The Cost of the Winery show was a Hot Topic at our last Meeting. Next year it will drop or no show will be held there again.
The Cost to run the Rallye, $20/car for one event (Fun or Poker)
$25/car for Both events(Fun & Poker) Hope you can make it. Also I am doing my Chicken Ranch Run on November, 16th. Fatherlarry went last year and had a good time. You get 1/2 a chicken dinner with salad bar for $5.75 and it's a nice ride.. More details to follow soon..

I hear what you're saying Davis. We have a club out here in Utah that tries to make a killing on their shows. But the word gets around after a while. Most of these clubs are a racket anyway. I don't belong to any of them anymore. My opinion is that too many politics and too many people wanting to be chiefs. The club we had out here, most of the members profited because they were in car sales or flea market Corvette sales, or owned businesses. :nono:

Not all clubs are that way. There's a lot of good clubs out there. I know of some clubs that the members and the board donate a lot to their communities. The treasury profits go directly to charities and all their events are out of their dues money.

Here's a club that's got it together. Look what you get here for less than the money you spent at the winery.

Important Atlantic City Car Show Bus Trip (post #1)

Attention CCDV Members!!! If you are interested in going to the AC Car Show on Feb. 28, 2004 please read this. We are running a Bus trip, the cost is $15. per person for the bus and $12 per person for the Car Show tickets(tickets purchased at the show are $16). The bus fills up rather quickly I'm told, so make plans ASAP. There are 49 seats available and they will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. To reserve a seat and purchase tickets email me at:
dpterranova@yahoo.com
Make sure you tell me how many tickets you need, include your name and tel#. If you need to speak to me say so and I will email you my phone number if you do not already have it.
Thanks Don Terranova

Yeah, it beats getting a goodie bag with a wine glass in it, and nothing else. The tour stunk. .:Puke: :Puke:

Wasn't worth $12. In fact in wasn't worth $3. Maybe $2.

For $12 I would rather go see a car show in AC.

Thank you "ebonyvette" and "HT99+63" !!!!!
In the last 10 years our club ( CCDV )has given away in excess of $170,000.'s to local charities. Make a Wish Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes, American Cancer Society, Sunshine Foundation, Friends of Warminster K-9 (purchased vests for police dogs), Life time club membership in the N.C.M., we give away a one year membership to the N.C.M. each month at our General Membership meeting, toys/ holiday party for St.Vincent's Home for Children in Philadelphia, Donations the U.S.Navy (moral, recreation, and welfare fund), just to name a few. Yes there are some clubs that are not as well run as others, but please don't think that all clubs are run poorly, or don't care. As you can see by the above trip to A.C. we try do our best to make events as reasonable as possible. Even our two day indoor Cavalcade of Corvettes car show is only $10's to register. This year will be our 45th year as a club and our 34th year holding our annual car show. Sorry for my long rant.....;bt

Davis is correct about our last show. The club did blow that one due to lack of good planing and not enough club members being involved. The Club is a good one.
The Allentown Area Corvette Club was formed in 1969 as a gathering place for people who love America's only true sports car. The club is an active member of the East Region of the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC). The club currently has 200+ members. The club is active in local events and each year holds club sponsored events including, Cruise Nights, Corvette Car Shows, Rally Events, and Autocross Events. The club routinely contributes to charitable organizations which in the past have included such organizations as: The Easton Children's Home, Dreams Come True, and Jenn's House.

LOOK FOR A BETTER SHOW NEXT YEAR !!

:wavey: Davis: If you come out on the 16th for the Chicken Ranch Run, I'll bring the Wine.;bt

Thanks for the invite Gerry, but I can't make it this year.

Y2K, that's some list of charity giving. I am proud to hear that there is a Corvette club that is so generous. If I lived in your area, you club is one that I would surely join. FL has always spoken very highly of your club, and now I know why. ;bt

I have spoken to FL about him starting a club, but with the website, I know he doesn't even really want to belong to any. I guess he's trying to keep neutral for the site.
