Well, yesterday I finally got around to taking a photo of my engine cover. You can also see the Halltech intake system as well.

What do you think?!

Coool!!

GM should have put one on the C5 from the beginning even if it would have been plastic.

I agree, Red. It gives the engine compartment a much more finished look than the fuel rail covers alone do.

Mod2fly,

No, there not carbonfiber stripes, plain old black decal stripes. I had a local shop, Customizer in Hagerstown, MD, do the job. They specilize in van and truck conversions and can do any type decals. They did a great job, and the stripes look like their painted on. I been getting good comments on how it make the car stand out from other C5s. I've always like having something different then the rest of the crowd. That's why I have a FRC!
How about this day! The temp now here hit in the 70s and I couldn't resist driving the beast to work. Might take her out tonight for a little drive. Enjoy the weekend and talk to you later.

Very nice, I thinking of painting some things red under my hood, Rail covers and tanks, have not decided yet. The carbon fiber looks really high tech.

Gerry, if you're thinking of changing your exhaust and you go to Borla, don't forget to change over to an X pipe.:chevy:

Not sure what I want to do about it yet. I would like to hear a few more systems on the same year I have before I shell out the Bucks. :chevy:

The reason I'm saying this is that a friend of mine had a 2001 with the Borla exhaust. He traded it for a 2003, but before he traded it in he put the stock exhaust back on which was just the mufflers. The rest of the system being stock. He took the stock exhaust off the 2003 and installed the Borla, without the X pipe. Supposedly it sounded like a popping type of sound, terrible. When he called Borla, they said that the 2003 diameter is smaller and you need to go with the X pipe, which is about $269. So, he had them install the X pipe and it sounded great. For some reason he didn't need it on the 2001, something to do with the Cats. I realize you have a 2001, so check with Borla, actually you may not need it.

I found out from a friend that went from the 01 to 03 and they told him you need the X pipe on the 03 and not on the 01 because the 03 has 4 Cats and the 02 only has 2 ? I'm sure Mike would know this one !! :chevy:
