Well....I just made my first repair on my '84.
Went to Road Atlanta on Sunday to take some pics and while I was waiting to get into the paddock area, she started overheating big time (290 and climbing).
Was embarassing since there was a BMW Motorsports racing class going on at the time. Not exactly the image I wanted to represent for 'American Iron'. :(
Anyway, thank God I live 2.3 miles from the track. After cooling her down, I made it back home. Ended up being the main fan motor was gone. I replaced it and the adjustable thermostat and all is well once again. :luxhello:
 My question is a.) what is the right/best operating temp and
b.) what oil pressure/temp should I be showing idling and under power/load?
One other question:How much hassle will it be to replace valve cover gaskets with the crossfire intake?
Thanks for any advice,
Kevin
