I would like to buy a Vette, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I’m just looking for something that is a little more fun to drive then my Grand Prix (so I don’t think I want an automatic).
What year Vette would be the best value?
…I think I have it narrowed down to a C3 (68-82). But not and 82, those are only available in automatic, right?
Thanks!!!

Hi South, and welcome to the forum. As far as a good choice in a Vette, well they all are great. It's really whatever bodystyle you are partial to. The C4's are available at good prices, and I would tend to go with '87 and up, mainly to avoid the crossfire injection. The crossfire is a little more problemsome to work on. In '85 and up they changed to the port fuel injection and got better feature came out each year after. The C3 chrome bumper from '68-'72 are more in demand and therefore more $$. Most of them need some work, and if you find a mint condition one, it's going to be big bucks. If you're going to spend more than $25K, then I would definitely go with a C5. Good luck in whatever you choose....don't forget to wave.:smoke: ;bt

If you're not too concerned with power and just want a Vette to cruise in, then the cheapest would be the '73-82 cars. As the power went down, so did the value.. there was a '76 and '77 in the local paper here going for around $5-6k with decent mileage.
