I figured all you Vette owners would love to hear this. Went down to a Chrysler dealer today to see the new Crossfire. It's got that little wing that comes up in the back when you hit 50 mph. Then I went to look at a Prowler, and I was talking to the service manager and one of the techs that were working on a Viper. According to them, it seems to be a problem with the chassis on the Viper cracking in a certain area, either from torque or flexing, and there's a recall where they have to bring in a welder to repair the damaged area. So the next time someone knocks the quality of the C5's, they ought to think twice. Even the C4's which are unitized like the Vipers, never had a problem such as that.:chevy: :chevy: :usaribbon

Good info. I have a Buddy with a Viper and will ask him if his frame is cracked. If not I'll tell him he must not be driving it hard enough.:luxhello:

my brother in law had a viper and it was a recall. for the problem with the chassis on the Viper cracking. That is why he got rid of it. the chassis is made out of something other than steel and not all people can weld it the guy at where he go it was going to have to go some where to be tough how to weld it.
