I heard from Bob Pache today. He emailed me. I guess he's been pretty busy. Below is his email which states what he's been up to these days.

I am still providing lubes tech support for Penske's IRL and NASCAR teams as a contractor for Exxon/Mobil. The IRL teams are Helio Castroneves, car #3 and Gil deFarren, car #6. In NASCAR it is Rusty Wallace, Car #2 and Ryan Newman, Car #12.
Also, Mobil is now the official oil of NASCAR so that I am to provide technical help to any team using Mobil 1 engine lubes. The new
Mobil 1 with Super Syn is also the factory fill for the new Cadillac XLR. The Super syn is a high molecular weight poly alpha olefin which provides exceptional oil film strength. I do not plan to go to Eorio's this year.
