:(
ok so the battery died... but... I think there is something more than that, I think I have an electrical problem :( It will start right up from a jumper box and run fine, with idle amps between 13-14 so my alt. is fine, but my head lights wont pop up when it is running (but they will turn on) and the battery is not accepting charge from the alt. so when I shut it off, it wont restart, it seems like the interior dash lights stay on until the battery is dead which is only about 1-2 minutes after I shut it off. (I let it idle for 35 minutes.) All other switches seem to work ok, I did not try the wipers.
:banghead:
Im going to call my dealer tomorrow since it is still under the 3/36 but, does it sound like just a dead battery to you or a bit more?? (A lot of stuff has reset like I dont have any tire pressure from any of my sensors so they have to all be reset.)
anyway thanks for lookin, i would be interested to hear also if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Hi Modfly,
Nice to see you back, although it's under circumstances I'm sure you're not happy about.
No need for concern. It sounds as if all the above problems may be due to a bad battery. I had the same problem with my '99 when the battery went dead and the dealer gave me a new battery under warranty, and then all was fine. Seems that GM had a bad run of batteries.
I am going to put this in the tech section for Mike. I'm sure he can ease you mind more. Good to see you aboard again. Send reagards to Juls.

~Mod~ Hello Modfly, Sorry to hear about your battery. It does sound like most of your problems are due to a bad battery. Any time the battery is dead all the computers lose their memory. Once you have a fully charged battery all the other systems should work properly. The only thing I'm not sure will be corrected is your headlamps not opening. However, the dealer should have no problem figuring out what is wrong if they don't work.Good luck!:chevy: MKOTZE

Thank you so much for your thoughts so far and thank you Father Larry for the warm welcome :) its not a matter of ever leaving, its just that I dont have any time anymore :(
Yes the battery was dead. But there is an electrical problem too. They have been working on it since yesterday at 11am. He said it's not good :( He replaced the battery and there is still a draw when the car is off. It seems to be in the body control system.
I am guessing this means the electronics that work the various body systems like door locks, windows, trunk release, interior lights...??
He is not sure what the problem is, I gave them the information I had on the systems that didnt appear to be working right (see first post) and he said he would pass the info onto the Tech.
He isnt sure that they will get to the bottom of it today. From the sounds of it, I have a feeling I would not want to see it right now anyway. lol :( boohoo!

Do you know if your old battery was leaking?? There is a problem with the Delco battery leaking and causing other problems. I have replaced my battery early due to this problem. ( replaced it with an OPTIMA Red)I didn't want the acid leaking into the PCM or BCM.

I had the same problem with mine and I put the new Delco for '02-'03's. They're upgraded now not to have that problem. If they warranty make sure they put the upgraded Delco, if you want to go with Delco. Otherwise, go with the Optima Red. That acid does have a tendency to mess up the PCM or BCM. Happened to mine and it wasn't under warranty anymore. Big Bucks! :banghead:

Thats some great advice Y2KFRC and HT99+63 thank you :)
They replaced it with a new Delco so I think I am safe for now. Next time around I will switch to the Optima Red, everyone seems to swear by them as the "THE" battery for the c-5.
I have the beasty home now and it seems happy again. hmmm i think i want to extend that warranty.. hahaha
