Hi Mike,
When I accelerate it seems like the back end really gets a lot of wheel hop, so I brought it to a dealer that services Corvettes and he said that the shocks were dried out and the rear leaf spring needs to also be replaced. He said I had two options. To go with the fiberglass or the regular steel spring. The fiberglass would save weight but be more expensive. I asked him why with such low mileage would the rear leaf spring go, and he said that being the shocks were original and really shot, the spring took up most of the bounce and gradually weakened with the bad shocks. He said if I had replaced the shocks when they started getting bad, I might have saved the spring. It kind of makes sense. How do you feel about it? And, how do you feel about the fiberglass opposed to the steel leaf?:banghead:
