you guys arn't going to like this question that I'm about to ask. As we all know, the LT5 is a kick *** motor. However it is true that parts will be much harder to find in the future and the motor isnt all that great for low end torque. The LS1 or LS6 motors are also kick *** motors w/ alot of potential and can keep up w/ any LT5, unless its a highway race:nod:
And here comes the question, Is it possible to swamp out a LT5 w/ a LS1 or a LS6 motor????

Welcome aboard KingZR1!
The '93 ZR1 is my favorite out of all the ZR1's. I really wanted to get a ZR1 at first, but after driving the C5 with the new technology it was hard to go back.
As far as altering and changing motors, rears etc, it' done every day and it's called hot rodding. It's a lot of fun and its using your imagination. It's all possible. If you're looking to have something like that done and you're not going to do the work yourself but have someone do it, it could be very expensive. When putting the engine in you have to tilt it a certain degree to have it line up with the drive line. Fabricating new engine mounts, wire harnesses, finding the right bell housing, lengthening the drive shaft or shortening it, exhaust fit and much more is labor intensive. If you are skilled in this area you will find it fun and a challenge, but if you're looking to have it done it could be costly. Besides, why would you want to take a ZR1 engine out of a ZR1 and lessen it's collectibility value, with so few of these cars made? Unless you mean to put an LT5 in a C5 body style. In that case, all the above applies also, including the cost.
I love fabricating, customizing and altering and I admire the creativity and artistry that goes into modifying or customizing. Have fun with whatever you want to do. My philosophy when it comes to an automobile is that there isn't anything that can't be done.
