Hi Mike,
How hard is it to take the air intake box out? Is the box where the filter is held attached to anything or is it held on by the intake duct that's connected on to the radiator shrout? Does it just float inside that chamber? I wanted to put replace it with a K&N. Thanks.

Hello ZO6Joe, The filter box is held on by several rubber grommets that snap onto plastic studs, which are part of the radiator shroud. It can be removed by carefully prying the grommets off the studs. Hope this helps! Good luck!:chevy: MKOTZE

Thanks Mike. To pull them out I have to snap the two straps that hold the air element in, pull the air element or filter out with the air filter cage, and then could I get out those two snap on bushings and pop them off by reaching in between and pushing them out with my hands? There's no nuts holding them on? Do I have to get under the car to see them instead of reaching in blind? Thanks for you help Mike.

Hello Z06Joe, Yes everything you said is correct about what you have to remove to get to the grommets. No you cannot use your hands you will need a screwdriver to give you enough leverage to pry the grommets loose. No there are no nuts holding them on. Unfortunately, you cannot access them from underneath the car and so you have to do it by feel. It will help to loosen the grommets if you spray silicone on the grommets first. Good luck!:chevy: MKOTZE
