Hi everyone,
Well, the new addition to the FatherLarry's Corvette Shop and corral is an Electron Blue 2002 Z06.
Well, at the Chevrolet exhibit they had a beautiful Z06 in Electron Blue. The color brought me back to 1967 at Island Chevrolet, Staten Island, NY, when my cousin purchased his 1967 L88. I forgot the name of the blue, but it was similar in shade. I believe it was Seabring Blue. Maybe one of you guys remember. Well, it was the hottest Vette around then, so when my wife and I saw this color at the auto show on a Z, we were hooked. I brought the Z home Friday afternoon and have been Zainoing since. The hardtop is great, but now I know what they mean by Z06. What a ride!
Also, in case you guys are interested, there's a radio show on Sunday morning from the Lehigh Valley called Monster Motorsports, channel 1230 am ESPN. It's on from 9:00-10:00 am, and hosted by a good friend of mine, Mark Porcaro, service mgr for Muller Chevrolet, Stewartsville, NJ. Today at 9:00 am, I joined him and spoke about FatherLarry's Corvette Shop & Forum, and hopefully Corvette Kotze and myself will be on again in the near future. Will let you know. It's an interesting show, so make sure to tune in. :smoke:

Thanks Bill,
That EB really attracted my wife and I. There's just something about it. What we can do at the next car show, is put your white 2000 hardtop next to a red 2001 Z and a blue 2002 Z, and we'll have a red, white & blue trio. Yours will be papa hardtop.
I too can't wait to get out on the real road. Getting tired of my Need For Speed game, and cabin fever is really high now.

I have a picture of a red/ white/ and blue hardtops parked outside a hanger at the Navy base in Willow Grove. The picture was taken the weekend before the September 11th disaster at our Cavalcade of Corvette's. The three hardtops were the first three cars to arrive. It wasn't set up to be a photo but what are the odds that three Vettes pull up in a half hour and they are hardtops and red, white , and blue:cool:

What are you going to do with all the time you'll have now, not having to take care of a black car. Is it true what they say about a black car.? "The best two day of owning a black car are, the day you get it , and the day you get rid of it". Black is a tough color to keep up..but classy when clean...

Thanks guys.
You got that right Y2K. I took a deep breath when I dropped her off. She did shine though! Like glass! I think the owner of the dealer is going to put it with his collection. But, you know, they tell you that, but if the right buyer$ comes along....well you know.
I can't stop looking at my EB Z06. It's outrageous! The handling on it is quite different from the the coupe & vert. I was surprised that the tires were much quieter than the runflats.
Well, spring is around the corner. Gerry, we have to get everyone together. And, Y2K, maybe you can get some of your members together and we can all go for a caravan to that chicken farm restaurant again. Y2K, you have to see what a beautiful country ride, and the restaurant has a big chicken in the front. There's a pond also, that you can see while your eating. And, you can't believe what you get to eat for only $5.75.
Hey Gerry, do you have any pictures from when we went? Email them to me and I'll post them here.

we do a Caffmans Chicken Ranch run, and your right, a GOOD cheap meal!!! Parking is good across the street in the field. We went last year and has about 30 cars. It looked like a Corvette show. I'm glad you like the new car. I'm not going to go to run flats when my tires need replacing. I think I'll use Michelin Pilot Sports. They are quiet and handle better.

Gerry, I've had it, the older I get the longer winter seems... I'd take a 50* day... I just went out and cleaned off my two out side cars. I guess we have about 2 1/2 or 3 inches of snow. Spring can't be to far off. I think it's like 52 days away.

Y2K, let's make the days last. We don't want them to rush by too fast. You know, as we get older, time goes by faster. If you want, come down to my house and spend the afternoon. We could have lunch and then race. We'll put our teeth in, make some hot cocoa, and put the video race game in. By the way, I think there's a new groundhog this year, so maybe he'll bring the spring on a little faster.
Oh geez. Look what winter has done to me. I'm freakin ramblin! Well, I have to go feed the chickens now. Talk to you later.

I'll pay that groundhog to say he didn't see a thing !! Or he better come out of the hole with his eyes closed... Maybe I'll take up groundhog hunting.. I need to start driving soon or I might go over the Edge !! HELP !! Anybody going to the Auto & Boat Show in Harrisburg Saturday?? Small corvette Show on Sat. Only ..... Gerry :chevy:

That sounds awesome father. Can't wait to see it. I never thought you'd get any color but black, but I guess this color is a little easier to take care of. Those Z's are some cars. Good luck!

Congrats on the new addition to the family!
Good luck! Safe motoring ....
P.S I think in 67 it was Marina Blue. Nassau blue stopped in 1966. (returned in 1997)Those are also some of my favorite colors. I was thinking of squirting my 64 but unfortunately they didn't make Nassau blue until 1965!!!

Let's hope you drive this one! Congrats. I heard that there was so much Zaino on the other one that you needed glasses with filters when looking at it in the sunlight.

congrats FatherLarry
how does your new ride compare to the FRC/nardtop?
fatherlarry
02-04-2003, 10:01 PM
Scott, it's a difference. We're talking about non-run flats, a little beefier suspension, different gearing in the transmission, more hp and more torque. The seats are not as comfortable as the hardtop, but if you put all the combinations together, its definitely a superior ride over the hardtop. I haven't had a chance to really drive it much. Just brought it from the dealer to the garage, waiting for the spring to come. The Electron Blue is very exciting on the car. I'm not used to the memory seat, and I went to look for the key cylinder on the passenger side and it doesn't have one. I guess I'm old fashioned. I feel like I lost another entry place for the key. It was definitely worth the extra bucks and the heads up display is a pleasure. It has the beauty side molding and it really adds a flare to it. I'll let you know more when the summer comes. Thanks.
PS. 1999 Hardtop was a great beginning!
