Mike,

I'm new here. I was wondering if you know how the compression was made higher on the LS6 opposed to the LS1. Was it the height of the head or the cut of the valve diameter? If I wanted to add a blower, they recommend lowering the compression. Would I be abe to make it up in a head gasket? Thank you.

Well I've done some research and the compression on the LS6 was raised to 10.5 to 1 by decreasing the cylinder head combustion volume. No you cannot make up the difference by using a thicker head gasket. If you use a non stock head gasket you could run into problems with the valve adjustment because the rocker arms are not adjustable. To lower the compression you would have to use custom pistons or change the cylinder heads. In my opinion I would not recommend doing either one. As any change in compression will lower your power I would look for other ways to boost your power other than the supercharger on an LS6.I hope this information helps. Good luck!:chevy: MKOTZE
