Hey guys. I read something today over on another forum about Kevin Hart, who was convicted for 2nd degree manslaughter charges in Nassau county. Seems he was involved in a street race with his Corvette and a Lamborghini, in which the Lamborghini driver was killed and also an innocent driver of another car. Here's the link to a site his wife referred to. I haven't read it all yet, but I am wondering if this poor guy is just being used as an example here.

Wow! Can you imagine! Granted he shouldn't have been racing in the street, but MANSLAUGHTER. Kevin's not the one who ran head on into the other driver. Seems steep to me, but I think you're right. I think that they want to make a real impression on this one. Makes me think twice that's for sure.

I'm sure they're going to appeal. I think the wife is looking for support from wherever she can get it, and especially to the Corvette Community.
Street racing is illegal, the same as drinking and driving. When you street race you not only endanger your own life, but innocent people. But, I'm sure you all know that.
On the other hand, there may be more to this then we are reading.
My sincere sympathies go out to all the people involved in this tragedy.

You know guys they come out with these movies with hot cars racing in the street, especially the one with Sylvestor Stallone. Now the cars are getting faster and handling better, so it's not only the quarter mile anymore like it was back in the sixties. It would be nice if they could start building some mores tracks in each state for the enthusiasts, with instructors to train drivers in safety and correct equipment. Then the average guy can go out and do 140-150 mph on the track and get it out of his system.
Since this probably is a very expensive undertaking, maybe car clubs from all over the US can raise money, and insurance companies and our gov't can contribute also. This would lower the accident rate for the insurance companies, and encourage young people to keep it off the streets. Just my opinion.
