Mike,
How do you set idle re-learn for a C5? On my C4 Vette I just turned the ignition switch on for about thirty seconds then turned off and started car.
Thanks:chevy:

Thanks:chevy: Hello HT99+63, The only time you need to relearn the idle is if the battery was disconnected or the PCM lost power. There are two separate procedures one for automatic trans. and one for manual trans. Here is the procedure for the automatic trans. First restore power to vehicle, then turn off a/c controls and any other accessory item, set the parking brake, then start the engine, let the engine run until it reaches a temperature of over 176 degrees, step on the brake pedal, shift into drive, allow engine to idle for 5 minutes, then shift into park, allow engine to idle for 5 more minutes, then turn off the engine for at least 30 seconds, this will reset the idle. Now for the procedure for a manual trans. First restore power to the vehicle, then turn off the a/c controlls and any other accessory item, set the parking brake, step on the brake pedal, shift into neutral, start the engine, let engine run until it reaches a temperature of over 176 degrees, then allow engine to idle for 5 minutes, turn off the engine for at least 30 seconds, this will reset the idle. I hope this helps.:chevy: MKOTZE
