What would be the symptoms of bad O2 sensors? Does the ECM compensate for this?

Anyway, back to your question. The first and most obvious symptom would be the check engine light would come on and there would be a stored code for a faulty o2 sensors. If that happens, the computer does compensate for that faulty sensor. However, the sensor may give a faulty reading which would result in a drivability problem that the computer would not recognize. In a situation as this, the information would need to be accessed by a Tech II monitor to be evaluated to define which sensor is malfunctioning.:chevy: MKOTZE

Thanx. I just replaced the O2 sensor because the wires had melted due to touching the exhaust system. No check engine light was on, but..................after replacing the sensor the car sure seems to be running a lot better.

Re the clutch fork problem: the threads holding the pivot ball in the bell housing had stripped causing the problem with the fork.
Its fixed now and I've run a few track events without any problems.
