Mike, what makes the overhead cam engines better at top end and hold their speed for a longer length of time than regular pushrod blocks.

I know that the pushrod has been around a long time and they're put in trucks and haul heavy loads, so why wouldn't they hold up as long as far as endurance?:spin:

With the overhead cam the engine will operate at a higher rpm before the valves float. This occurs because there is less momentum due to the fewer moving parts and reduced weight. The LS1 and the LS6 have proven that the pushrod engines can still deliver plenty of horsepower. :chevy: MKOTZE
