Hi Bob,
It looks like you've been around cars for a long time. If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose to own a Corvette? And, how many Vettes have you owned? What would you like to own besides a Corvette in a sports car?
I'm in Staten Island. What event would you be going to that would be in the general area? I would like to meet you and chat a while. :chevy:

I always liked fast American cars and have had several GTO's, modified Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles. I hadn't owned a Corvette until I got a good deal on a 92 LT 1 in January of 93. It was an automatic and I wanted a six speed so I bought my 2000 coupe in 1999. I used to do quite a bit of engine building in my younger days and was a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the Army. Than I got a degree in Chemistry. I guess I waited so long for a Vette because I had to raise a family and a Vette was out of the question. Having worked for Citgo and Mobil plus involvement in the NASCAR, CART and IRL programs have kept my car interest alive. As far another sports car make, I guess it would be one of the Feraries if I could afford it.
I am currently not planning to attend any carevents other than my active support of the Penske teams in NASCAR and IRL keeps me pretty busy.

Bob,
My sentiments exactly. In my case, in an Italian family, you usually follow the footsteps of your father, such as I did.
I too, am a Ferrari lover. Who knows, maybe someday. Thank you for sharing that with us.

From working on cars to chemistry is a big switch. It's great how you kept it all automobile related. Thanks.
