Turn Signal Flasher (stop laughing)
Just bought an 88 coupe. Directionals stopped working just the other day. Received an aftermarket manual that shows the flasher location to the left of the steering column, under the dash. Apparently I have forgotten what a flasher looks like because I could not find it. HELP where the _ _ ll is it and how do I get there?

Unfortunately, the aftermarket manual you bought is no good, the information is incorrect. The turn signal flasher is located behind the right hand side of the instrument panel, near the fuse block. To access this you would need to remove the panel on the passenger side under the dash. While you are looking up under the dash the flasher should be taped to the main wiring harness between the computer and the fuse block, located at the passenger door. I hope this information is helpful. Oh by the way, If you would like an original GM manual the information should be in the back of your owners manual. Good Luck.:chevy: MKOTZE

After NOT finding the flasher (but reel close) it turns out it is most likely the switch in the steering column. Manuvering the telescopic in and out I got them to work. Had to do this a couple of times now. Maybe some day I will take the time to fix it correctly.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. Hello Steve, Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry you haven't found the flasher. However, from what you just said it does sound like the turn signal switch is bad. I would not wait too long before having it replaced as it could cause additional problems like: no brake lights and a possible fire hazard. Good luck:chevy: MKOTZE
