I met Bob Pache at a recent car show. He shared an enormous amount of information with me and others at the show. He will be joining forum to answer any members questions and share experiences that he has had as research engineer for Mobil. He'll be joining us shortly, so let's give him a great welcome. Below is a recent email from Bob to me. I invited him aboard and he accepted. Thank you Bob. The pleasure is all ours.

It was a pleasure to talk with you at the Corvette show this past Sunday. I was especially interested on your assessment of the Corvette LS6 engine problems and would appreciate any updates. Also, if you have any questions regarding Mobil 1 usage, etc, please feel free to contact me.
I was a research engineer at Mobil in Paulsboro, NJ and retired two years ago. I conducted field tests of Mobil 1 and provided lubes technical support for Penske Racing's NASCAR and CART programs. I still provide technical support to the Penske teams as a contractor to ExxonMobil. The oil used in our two NASCAR teams, Rusty Wallace, Car #2 and Ryan Newman, Car #12, is a special version of Mobil 1 0W-30 which I had formulated. The two Indy Racing league cars of Helio Castrneves, Car #3 and Gil deFerran , Car #6, use standard Mobil 1 15W-50, the winning oil at this years Indy 500.
