Attention All 2001 C5'S with LS1 and LS6 engines. If you are experiencing a whistling noise coming from the intake manifold or throttle body most noticeable between 1100-2000 rpms. It is caused by the airflow through the intake manifold. GM has just released a new intake manifold that will correct the condition. The part number is 88894339. See your local dealer. :chevy: MKOTZE

Hi Mike,

I'm just curious. Is it only on the 2001 C5's LS1 and LS6? And is it only some experiencing the problem? Would I have the problem with my 1999 hardtop? I don't hear a whistling noise on mine. Is it a problem that comes later on with mileage? If I don't have the problem on mine now, will I eventually get it?

What is actually causing the problem? Is it a crack in the manifold or warpage, or poor design? Thanks Mike.:chevy:

That's great info Mike. A friend of mine has a 2001 with the problem. It sounds like a wind whistle. I told him about this forum and what you just told us. He had previously brought it back to the dealer and they told him it's just a common problem. I guess they know the answer now. Thanks for the info.:chevy:
