We started out at 9:30 am and took Route 309 to meet with Mark and Debbie with their '91 ZR1, and on route to 313, I saw a Silver C5 monster in my rear view mirror. I knew immediately by the sound of the car that it was the one and only Mod2fly. She caught up to me in two seconds flat. I was cruising a 45 mph, knowing that the troopers were out, Mod2fly gracefully pulled over to the left lane next to me and I could tell by the look in her eye that she wanted to blow the doors off my Hardtop. No way Jose! I was out for a nice slow cruise, no racing. We met up with our ZR1 friends and caravaned to the show at Eorio's Bakery.

As I led the way, I stayed at the speed limit of 45 mph, and when we got to the show, they all wanted to kill me and nick named me 45 mph FatherLarry. Oh well, we had a good laugh. Well needless to say Mod2fly disappeared after about an hour and someone said she found someone to race. We missed you Mod. It was great having you with us.

We met some other members from our forum including FinWolf and Paul Eggerman, and his wife Barbara and Bill Burkholder. FinWolf you have a great car there! FinWolf is a great guy, and his dedication to the Corvette that his brother owned and keeping his memory alive is touching. And, Paul, your car looked great. Love that Magnetic Red, and I really enjoyed you and your wife's company. You're wonderul people. Enjoy your retirement and the empty nest, I know we are. Maybe we can go down and buy our new C6's together.

Bill, that white 2000 hardtop is beautiful. Sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side and you don't really know what you have. It was a pleasure meeting you and we'll try to get a barbeque set up this summer at my home for all you guys.

John Eorio did a wonderful job setting everything up at this bakery and home, and we had a great time. He'll do well with his establishment, due to his gracious nature and good food, and hopefully he'll mention FatherLarry's Corvette Shop at the next show.:chevy: :wavey:

Yes it was a great time good to see some of the faces with the names. I would of though that larry would be a older man. But no he is not he just drives that way  I just had to say that. I hope you got my car on your video you were taking.

I think the standard Z06 wheels would also look good on the white. I personally like the ones you have now. Again, it was great meeting you.

Do you know that we were the only two hardtops there? Outside of the Z06's. That tells you something. We're just as rare as the ZR1's.

Well thanks for the compliment FinWolf. I feel young, even though I drive like I own a Rambler. But that's the joy of it. I love a slow cruise. Especially as people slow up to look at the car and thumbs up.

You were older than I expected. I thought you were about 25. You look like one of the boys I grew up with, and I feel like I've always known you. The camera battery went dead, so I didn't get too many pics. If you can tell John from the bakery to send me some pics of the show and the winners, I'll post them on the site. It might give him an even better turn out next year.
It was great meeting you. We'll have to get together again soon.

PS. There's some more trivia questions. I'm counting on you to answer.

Sounds like you all had a great time. Sorry I missed it father, but something came up. Did you really go 45 mph? I guess you won't live that down too easily. Be there next year hopefully. But I hope to meet up with you guys somewhere else. Hey FinWolf, fatherlarry mentioned you might be able to get some pics. Would like to see them.

Yeah, I'd like to see those pictures too. Maybe I could make it next year for the third one. Any pictures of father larry? Did he really only go 45 mph? He must be getting old. :rolllaugh

Father Larry, did they give any trophies out? Did they have different classes? Like to try to make it next year, sounds like you all had a good time.

Yes, they did have trophies the judging was easy on the cars kind of like just fit and finish how clean the cars were. They mixed custom with stock so it is hard to judge that way may be next year it will be different he is new at the show thing. Food was great and the BBQ after was a blast.

I had a great time. Finwolfy it is always good to see you :) we should do another poker run soon :)

Fatherlarry it was also nice to see you and Stephanie again, (even if you did torture us by going 45 - which will haunt you for the rest of your life.. hehehe) You should come to the track on July 27th with me, get that engine screamin and promote the site. There will be about 200 vettes there.

Paul- You and your wife were very nice, I must say your hitch set up on your C5 is totally cool! Im sure we will run into each other again soon!

Mark and Debbie are both very cool people, I had my boyfriend Jul's with me, and even though he has been selling, fixing and racing cars for 20 years, he is not familure with the corvette community and this was his first event with me. Had it been any other couple- I am sure that Jul's would have had his head handed to him for touching the ZR1 when he leaned over to say hello. (an action i caught instantly and educated him on the minute he got in my car ... lol NEVER touch another mans vette! thanks for understanding. :) we should grab dinner sometime, email us :)

~Regards~

Hey Mod,

If you thought I went slow, you had to be there when we left for the barbeque. John Eorio lead the way with his pace car and he paced it at 25 mph. Couldn't get out of second gear.

Anyway, you're right, I won't live it down. BTW, no damage on the bottom of my car except for the right side spoiler, which Outten Chevrolet got for me the next day. Next time I'll back in.

I think you're right. Maybe I'll come down to the races. Should I come down with my Subaru? ha ha he he:rolllaugh

I'm getting to talk like you Mod. I spoke to John Eorio today and he's going to do some announcements on Father Larry's Corvette Shop, and he'll be coming over for dinner one night, and bringing some canoli's. We'll have you and Jul's over one night also. But tell Jul's he can't lean on the Hardtop. It's OK to lean on Mark's car, it's only a ZR1. And, FinWolf is a great person. So glad to have met him. Feels like I've known him all my life, and you too Mod. There's people that you just feel comfortable with and you and FinWolf are two of them. Ihave some pics of the Eorio Bakery show and will be posting them this week.

Well, next time you lead:lol:
