I have never seen true Corvette enthusiasts complain about their cars as much as I've seen the new buyers of the C5. I personally feel that half the problems are caused by the drivers themselves. I have seen a lot of Z06's really beat to hell. The drivers are constantly on it, bringing them down to the race tracks, modding them out with after market parts to gain more horsepower, and I think that GM does pretty good standing behind their customers. I have never seen GM bend over backwards, buying back some cars that could even be damaged due to the fault of the owner. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying GM is perfect, nobody is. You never hear the stories about the Ferraris, Lamborginis, Mazarattis, Vipers, Jaguars etc. And, I'm sure they have their share of problems, but I don't think the owners beat them as much as owners of Corvettes. Their investment is much higher, and they're not the typical people to go out auto crossing. They baby their cars. Believe me, I've worked on many Lamborgini's and Ferraris and talk about oil leaks and the price to repair them. We should thank our lucky stars for GM. It took me a long time with my '57 E Gaser to go down the quarter mile and shift those gears right without loosing a couple of clutches, syncros and gears, and blowing a couple of rears. These are my personal feelings. I'm sure GM could do better on the interior, paint, fit and finish, but all around it's still the best performance for your money. And, let's not forget resale. So maybe we can all start saying some positive things about our C5's.:chevy: :smoke:
