I just wanted to see how Fr. Larry has been doing. I updated my signature and wanted to test it out. Hopefully the pics will come through.
Looks like the hardtop section has caught on as Fr. Larry hoped it would.
Congrates, Fr. !

Sweet!
It worked! All I did was copy my signature from corvetteforum to this site but it appears that the BOLD command does not work here so I deleted it.
Am glad to see the pics worked!
I'll stop in again. You're in my "favorites", Fr.

Nice '90 ZR1 you got there. Did you buy it new?
 You have to bow down to the King!

No, I found in on ZR1.net about a year ago.
I had been looking for a vette for almost a year when i finally found this one at a very reasonable price.
These internet websites are really great! I could have never found this car 10 years ago.

Jim, are you a member of the LT5 Registry? Were you at the Gathering in Bowling Green? Are you going to Carlisle? Can I ask any more questions?:wavey:

Hey guys. I also have a '95 ZR1 which I bought new. I am having trouble with the idle. I think I may have gotten some dirt in the injectors. I am contemplating on selling it, or trading it in for another C5 or looking for a '65 hardtop with the 396 and hood change. I like the older styles, because I think that there's nothing like it. The ZR1 is also special, so I'm not sure what I really want to do. :banghead: Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

VetBoy,
No, No, No, and sure.
but I did buy a registry hat at Carlisle last year. I figured I'd try each club eventually and see which has the best value. This year I joined NCM and ZR1 Gold so far.
I was in Mexico on vacation during the gathering this year. Things had to be priortized and the boss wanted to do the cruise. I do already have a reservation for the 50th bash out at NCM next June.
I went to Carlisle last year and am in the LT5 arial photo sitting in my camo lawnchair. I am undecided this on this year as the ZR1 is not the highlighted car :(
My brother lives in NY and has a 40th convertible. If he goes, I will too. He's single and only plans 3-4 days in advance so I won't know for awhile.
Ask anything, you wish. The next question is will I answer. I also post occasionally on ZR1.net under the name Lori_and_jim.

If you like mid-years there is a really nice 66 427 coupe at Stoudt's in Reading. I wanted it myself until I sat in it and realized how damn small those old Vettes are. My head hits the roof and the steering wheel hits the top of my thigh. It is a beauty! I would definately NOT get another C5, but that is my opinion. BTW, are you a member of the LT5 Registry?

HardTop,
What do you do with your car(s)?
If you garage it 51 and 1/2 weeks a year, I'd get the 65.
If you drive 20 000 miles a year, I'd get the new C5 considering you might be able to do a direct swap.
If you only like to drive it on nice Sumer Saturdays and race teenages between stop lights in the evening, keep the Z.
It all depends. I'm the once or a twice a week driver on nice days so the medium mileage Z seemed right for me.

Never joined the registry. I was friends with Larry Merrow when it was the ZR1 registry. He always wanted me to, but I never had any time. I think he's in Florida now. He moved from Sayville, NY. BTW, I didn't think they made a '427 in '66. I thought it was a 396. I love the old Vettes, they give you a true pony car ride with all that torque with the big block. Something like the Cobra and Viper. One think you have to admit is that it's more stylish than the Viper and I think more comfortable. That's only my opinion. I am not a very big guy, so I usually fit comfortably in a any car. I'll have to check that one out. Thanks for the info Vetteboy.:wavey:

Midland,
I don't drive the Z much. To tell you the truth, I feel like a change. Not only that the wife isn't too comfortable in the C4's. But she'sl real happy in the C5. I have the hardtop and was thinking of another one to add on to the collection of hts. Although, my first ride was in a '63 split when I was younger and I'm just crazy about the body style. Don't get me wrong, the ZR1 is one of the greatest VEttes ever made. But, there's just something about those C2 body styles. I'm also not much into racing and I don't drive the Z much, so like you said, it's what I want to do with it. Maybe time to pass it on for someone else to enjoy. By the way, your '90 is beautiful and so is Vetteboys. Love that black.
Thanks guys, you made me feel comfortable here. I've only been a member for a short time.

I just checked Stoudt's web site and the 66 is gone. Too bad, I liked just looking at the picture! Watch out for that red 63, it was white on Good Friday, they just repainted it. I wish you guys would consider joining the LT5 Registry, we get the best reserved parking there is at Carlisle! We were the first group to get Dave McLellan to autograph copies of his new book too (Corvette From the Inside). His first edition will be very limitted. I happen to know the State Director for PA is a very cool guy

Hey VetBoy,
I just realized that you turned off your signature for later posts. I guess that's a smart idea to save on Fr.'s memory.
Of course, I like to look at my car 5 times as I scroll down but maybe eeryone else does not.
I had really big pics for awhile but Fr. shrunk them down to fit the borders better. Personally, I liked the big pics better but its his website.

It's considered good policy to only post your sig pics once per thread like they do on the Corvette Forum.
