Here is the latest.
The flags that flew over the capitol building in Washington DC and certified for our event will be mailed to me next week. Then I will arrange to send them out to the appropriate starting points.
We have an official professional event photographer (2cool32@chartermi.net) who will work with Corvette Fever magazine to document Stars & Stripes. She will join the tour in Columbus and travel to NY with us. All those who are planning on taking pictures and video's should get in contact with her for picture collaborations.
The editor of Corvette Fever and her staff will be at the WTC with us.
The Secretary of Transportation will have one of his assistants officiate at a handoff in Washington DC.
The Pentagon plans are finally jelling together. Details will be posted in the next few days.
Route 66 magazine will host a handoff in Amarillo Texas. They will also feature the event in their magazine.
Shirts. In the next few days you will be able to order polo's or tee's in white or Navy Blue with the Stars & Stripes logo sewn on. The costs will be $15 for Tee's and $30 for Polo's. A minimum order of 150 of each must be accumulated before they are produced and shipped.
As you know, stickers are available for ordering. Info on the website.
(CALVette on the Forum, sent me a note with a great idea. His suggestion was to ask fire departments and police departments that are wishing to participate, if they would like to provide one of their arm patches to be carried along with the flag and delivered to New York. They could be sewn together into a large wall hanging or display quilt.
Major departments in each area could be asked by coordinators to accumulate the patches from other local departments in there vicinity, and deliver them to the planned stops along the way. There is still adequate time to get the word out and get it done. What do you think?
