Pontiac will drop the GTO this year
DETROIT -- General Motors has told Pontiac dealers that it will discontinue the GTO coupe at the end of this model year. GM will make the last deliveries of the vehicle to dealers by the end of September, sources close to Pontiac say.:banghead:

Hey Finwolf, what is that new president Burkholder on the CCDV forum running a concentration camp there? Only for members
Some one asks about a good dealer and they can't even mention a dealer's name. What do have to belong to the KKK or say Hi Hitler. I'm not going over there any more. :usaribbon :usaribbon :nono:

I read the post be for it got edited and said to my self some body is going to get mad but never thought it would go as far as it did. I believe you can say what ever you want . if you have a good experience you should be able to say so. Bill is a real great guy if you ever meet him you would like him. he is funny makes me laugh. bill was one of the first guys I meet when I joined the club and all ways helped me when ever I needed it.

First let me say that I'm NOT the president of CCDV, second, the editing of the post was suggested by board members ( I saw nothing wrong with the original post). Before editing the post I notified the author (a good friend) and explained why it was going to be done, received and email back that he understood why and he was ok with it, but not happy with it. Please don't shoot the messenger!! Third, I purchased my car from the dealer that was edited out.... Fourth, I'm offended by your comments linking me with the KKK, concentration camps, and Hitler. Those comments are not in the spirit of the Corvette community, and the same bias that my Grand parents and Great Grand Parents put up with during WW II when my Father was in the US Navy fighting the Germans in the North Atlantic. Fifth, If you have been on our site and read the posts asking for a "members only section" ( to discuss club business) you would see that it was at the request of OUR members, and the board acted on their request. I'm sorry that you won't be visiting our site, but that's your choice, I hope that you change your mind.... If you knew me you would know that I always treat everyone with dignity and respect. I don't expect this will change your opinion of me but those who know me from other than a few posts will tell you that I am far different that you have painted me.
Bill Burkholder.
CCDV Past President 2003/ 2004
PS. Thanks Steve for the kind words....

brooklynvette,
I'm very disappointed in what I'm hearing from you. There was no call for your remarks against someone you don't even know, plus your facts are distorted. I won't tolerate this kind of belittling against another member here. The CCDV is one of the best Corvette clubs around, and I have met Bill personnally and he is far from the person you made him out to be.
Bill, I apologize for brooklynvette, and I feel very badly that he said such things. I emailed him personally and hope he returns an apology to you.

Larry, there's no reason for you to apologize to me, you weren't the offender... thank you for your understanding and continued support of our club. You and I know how hard it is to be an administrator of a website and I commend you for the job that you do. Again thanks.... Bill;bt

I do apologize to Bill Burkholder and to fatherlarry. I should not have expressed myself in the manner that I did. I guess I'm just sick and tired of all these forums that have to worry about their sponsors and members can't even mention where they can get a good deal on a vette. If we are all to be a Corvette community, then why such allegiance to the sponsors? We're being dictated to and members are made to feel like fools. That's what I like about this forum, the fact that there are no sponsors to deal with. Father is open to everyone.
Again, I am sorry for coming off the way I did. We're all entitled to make a mtstake once in a while.
Hope there are no hard feelings.

No hard feelings..... I'll give you a little history about our sponsor, In 1958 our club needed a Chevrolet dealer to sponsor us. We went to them and they agreed to help. Since then, they supported us by allowing us to hold our Cavalcade of Corvettes at their dealership, moving all their car from the sales floor, and shop area, until we out grew the building. Not a lot of dealers would give up their floor from Friday to Sunday. Over the years they have donated many dollars to our club and today they will meet or beat ANY dealer on price for any Chevrolet. They also will make service appointments giving CCDV priority and a discount on parts.. Very nice.... We do owe an allegiance to them....
The post that was deleted only had the "other" dealer's name removed not the whole post, the author of the post removed the post on his own and it looked like I removed the entire post. I went to the CCDV board at our next monthly meeting and explained to them how unfair it was to edit the post just because it had another dealers name in it. I felt it was unfair and that I wouldn't do it again and offered to step down as the website administrator. I told them that our sponger did give a great price to our members BUT did not have any stock on the floor like the big N.J. dealer did, so if you were willing to wait our sponsor was the place to go and if you wanted a Corvette ASAP then hit the AC Expressway and drive your new Vette home. Most agreed and we hashed out any issues that would arise from similar posts, and how I would handle that. Out of that discussion and the uproar and public arguing, and at club members request for about two years, a Members Only section was started. As for free speech on our website or most bulletin boards, it's not free ( about $150.'s a month). Sorry but there has to be some rules. In the past I have had to remove posts that linked porn sites, ethnic slurs, and gay bashing, derogatory remarks about other members, just to name a few. I've had to edit my own post once due to a photo that if felt was OK and as it turned out the girl in the bathing suit holding a machine gun offended a member. It's not an easy job but has to be done.
Again no hard feeling and I did want to give you a small background on the issue.... Bill
