The center of gravity was lowered in your year for flat cornering and increased stability. Wheel rim width was increased to 7 inches. Coupled with the new F70-15 wide oval tires that are standard, overall handling of the '68 was something never before achieved in anything short of a car specially prepared for competition. The wider wheel, wide-oval tires with more rubber on the road plus the increase of nearly an inch in both front and rear tread added up to improved performance for the '68 Corvette.
