:)
One of my '68 Vettes has a wiper motor problem: I bought the car last year without a working wiper motor, someone had pulled the wiring connections off the wiper and pump and disconnected the transmission. The connectors and wiring are present and I've
been able to test for power but can't get the original motor or a
replacement to work. I've jumped the wiper door limit switch and
connected auxillary grounds but nothing happened other than I noticed that the replacement motor armature housing seemed to be warm at one point (hopefully the motor circuit breaker protected it)
My questions at this point are; can I bypass the original wiring to power the wiper motor temporarily (if so, what's the correct method of jumper lead connections) just to have the satisfaction that the motor isn't fried? And then test/work back through the switches and connections. Is there a recommended point to start at for tracing the circuit? Note that the wiper door only operates via override at this point. Other than being able to temporarily "bypass test" the motor the only other way I can think of trying to test the motor is by installing it in my other '68 that works (most of the time) but I hate to do that and wind up with two DOA's.
