I'm looking at a complete (for the most part!) 68 coupe. I havn't got the engine # ,or the options tag info (The Tag has so much paint you can't tell anything) I'm just curious of how much is too much to pay, should it be a worst case situation and still be able get out of it without too much loss. THANS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!! :dunno:  :dunno:

Its the stuff you don't see (at first) that can REALLY get you. The frame should be solid, the birdcage that surrounds the passenger compartment should also be examined, since it can also be a problem. The paint and replaceable parts are small matters that can be dealt with piecemeal if necessary. Even body mounts are fixable. Be careful and examine what ever you can get to. There are more experienced persons on this and other boards that can guide you as well. Good luck...Joe ...:yakyakyak

A good '68 with a small block, air conditioning, leather interior, all power, in excellent condition is going between $20k to $30k. An average condition '68 would go for $15k-$19k, and one that has to be restored completely, your looking at about $10-$14K. If you figure the amount of work that you'll have to put into it to restore, you can get a nice coupe or vert for between $25-$30k in a small block, ready for show. Hope this helps.
