I noticed the other day that the inside of my front tires on my 03 Z06 are wearing much more than the rest of the tire. The book says the front camber should be -0.70.

The alignment shop changed the camber close to 0. Was this a good idea and left everything else set to factory Z06 Specs. I must say I wasn't to impressed with the tech doing the work.

Would changing the alignment to the standard C5 be recomended? Any ideas would greatly appreciative. I don't track the car and usually drive pretty easy.

Thanks
Stan

Welcome aboard Stan!

And, many thanks for helping to keep our country safe. God Bless you.

In answer to your question, a lot of guys change the camber to the close to 0. It' doesn't help the wear factor all that much. This wearing is a common factor of the C5 and Z06. I had the same problem with my '98 coupe and 2002 Z06. I kept them both at factory setting for best handling. Another thing to look out for on your Z, is the sub frame bolts (front and rear). Make sure that they are torqued down properly. Also, sway bar bushing brackets have a tendency to come loose. Your driving habits also have a lot to do with tire wear. I don't know if you bought the car new or used. If you bought it used and are not a hard driver, and don't use the car for racing, you should get about 20-25K out of the factory tires. These tires do not last long. I have Goodyear tires on my Ford Lightnin, with only 12,000 miles on them and they all needed to be replaced. Not such a good wear factor on these Goodyears. Make sure you keep the right air pressure at all times. Hope this helps...good luck.
