back plate

Hey new here got a ? i just got my plates and cant get the back plate on i dont want to break nothing theres nothing in the manual whats the trick ??? please help

Welcome aboard Kevin.

When my wife and I bought our first '99 Hardtop, I was up against the same problem. Good thing that I had the shop manual. There's four tabs on each corner of the black license plate rim. Get a flat screw driver and one tab at a time press each tab in gently, while pulling frame out with your other hand. Repeat each corner until all four corners are out. Sorry I don't have a diagram. If you have any trouble, go to your local Chevy dealer. They'll be more than happy to help you out. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
