My 2001 corvette C5, automatic will not start. Has no power what so ever, I went to start it and I heard a click and it went dead. Had battery checked and recharged and the vehicle is still dead. C5 has 38, 000 mile and no longer in warranty. Is there a fuse or relay that can cause this...any ideas or help will be appreciated. I try to jump start and I got gauges to work, starter clicked but did not turn. Thanks

I had the same problem. My C5 wouldn’t start. I could hear relays clicking under the hood. I had decided to replace the battery after I had read a technical bulletin from the C5 forum web site about early C5’s experencing leaking batteries and damaging the components under the battery tray. I had picked up a Red top Optima battery from AutoZone for about $110.00. I removed the old battery and found acid related corrosion already forming under the tray. The center of the tray is cut out for mounting. I placed a paste mixture of baking soda and water into a tray to neutralize the acid. I worked. I flushed the area for about three minutes. Now she starts and I have prevented a potential problem that would’ve damaged my C5 later in life. After the rains stop, I will remove all of components in the battery bay and clean and repaint the support brackets.
The site in which I found the bulletin is:
