At this time I'm not a big fan of the C6. Maybe with time... One of our club members picked his up and some of the comments were, the doors don't have that solid sound when you close them. The interior looks cheap. He even commented he would like to have his C5 back. I guess time will tell. I'll be holding on to my C5 for now.

Is this one of your trick questions? Being in the autobody business, you oughta know. Yes the C6 is greatly improved over the C5. To start off, it's much more comfortable. They improved the exhaust system by eliminating the rear floor panel and running the exhaust & mufflers straight back instead of them being on each side of the bumper covers. Some tweaks in the frame and suspension are a plus. The wheels are larger, and brakes, rotors and calipers are improved. The body is more reinforced opposed to the hardtop. Remember the cracking problems with the moldings near the windshield seal panel, when the body flexed? The fit and finish are greatly improved. Also, a quieter ride with more sound deadener. Styling wise, I lean towards the newer syle, since it has less of a bubble look, and more of a Euro flair. Now with the new Z06 coming out, with the aluminum frame and the sub frame being titanium, and a lot of the parts being carbon fiber, its giving it a big edge over the C5 Z06. Not to mention the new LS2 engines which eliminate the problems that we all suffered with on the LS1's. The LS2 engine block has been strengthened on the side walls, improved breathing, improved rings, connecting rods and a much better and well tuned automobile. But, it's expected that each model will be improved. It's hard for some Corvette people to let go and except the new improvements. Naturally, with new body styles and changes, there will always be problems and bugs covered under warranty. It all comes down to what style Vette you like and what makes you happy. For me, what makes me happy is looking forward to getting the new Z06. Definitely, will be the new King of the Hill. This time I'm going with yellow.;bt

I've owned 3 C5's - 00, 02, and 04. Now that I've got a C6...no comparison....the look took a while to grow on me, but the interior is much better/user friendly, and with the extra hp and smaller dimensions....no contest.

But then again, just one man's opinion!!

I have had 4 C-6's to drive and work on and it is a much tighter car than my C-5 (with 14K) The interior is better, but still not what you would expect from a $ 45 to $ 50 K car, juat look at some of the imported cars. "Do I need one, no, but do I want one.... YES!!!" It's a step above the last generation , just as the C-5 was better than the C-4....I wonder what the C-7 will be like..................
