All new body style since the introduction of the C2 1963-1967. This is called C3. 1968 Models come in Coupe body with removal roof panels called T-top's(2pieces),and a removal rear window. Also available in Convertible form, with optional hard-top. The 1968 Corvette was unique in many ways. Note 1968 was not called Stingray. New door handles are squeezed down to open the doors,and push the lock button in. Base engine displacement from 327 Cubic Inches. Also available in Big Block version 427 Cubic Inches. Optional 427 V-8 available in mild street version 390 horsepower (L36),and 400 horsepower Tri-Power Carburetion(L68). Also Available 427 V-8 with 435 horsepower, and Tri-Power Carbureators, called L-71. There was an option for the L-71 engine package to have installed Aluminum Heads, called(L-89). L-89 units were 624 built. L-88 available for second year at 427 Cubic Inches rated at 430 horsepower! L-88 production was 80 units. Note this was an all out racing engine that was not offered for sale to the general public! Estimates put the horsepower somewhere around 560 Horsepower.
