Hi, I have recently lost a set of keys for my 1977, leaviing me with only one ignition key and no door keys.
The one ignition key that I do have has two codes on it. which are P1098J and P98J. Do these codes represent both keys ? if so where can I get replacement pre-cut keys ?
Thanks
Nigel

You have 2 different options. You can take the key cylinders out and bring it to a locksmith, and he can make up a new set of keys with new tumblers for you. Or, if you want the original keys, he can take the numbers off the tumblers that are in the cylinders and make the original set that you lost, this way you don't have to take out both cylinders out, but just one. As far as the numbers on the keys you have, I never heard of GM putting any numbers on them, so it seems that they are aftermarket. Good luck and let us know how you make out.:usaribbon :shift:
