NEED HELP - Recently inherited my father's 1980 L82 Corvette, I am wondering where can I get the history of this particular corvette model as in, how many were manufactered, engine specs, etc. Can someone please HELP? I need to know how to get the $$ value of this particular model. Thanks so much - lost in Arizona with a new toy.

Welcome aboard! FinWolf forgot to mention the best one!

Here's the link: 1978 through 1982 (http://www.fatherlarryscorvetteshop.com/1984-1990.htm)

It's great to have you on board. My opinion is that the 1980 is the best choice out of the '74-'82 in the C3 bodystyles. That L82 is the valued one for that year and model.

God Bless and safe cruising to you too. Post some pics. We'd love to see them.;bt :shift:

Also, a copy of the corvette "Black Book" has all kinds of information on all years. I go to mine all the time. ;bt

The only manual given to me was a Mid America Assembly Instruction Manual - is this the "Black Book" you speak of? If not, where might I find one?

Also, having problems finding a business that will perform a 4 wheel alignment. :nono:

Another problem is we have to unhook the battery after every use, because it's dead the next day if we don't. The battery is brand new and has been checked to be fine. Any ideas on what might be causing this b attery drainage? :dunno:

Thanks for taking the time to respond. :luxhello:

No it's not the Black Book, you can order the Black Book from the National Corvette Museum. You'll find the link on my home page.

As far as the battery going dead. Some things that may drain the battery are: door switches, glove box light, voltage regulator isn't charging at the 13.4 rate that it should be, but just enough to keep the battery alive, until it sits overnight. I would take it for a check at one of your local dealers or repair shop that handles Corvettes. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Hello Larry,

I guess you can tell we are new with all this restoration and problem solving stuff. We are educated and quick learners though. :shift:

Now we have been trying for 1 hour to get 4 pics to load onto this thread. Even tried creating a new thread. Can you offer instructions. We are using jpg files from our hard drive.

Thank You for your patience. ;bt

You can also pick up a "black book" at any good book store like Borders or Barnes & Noble.  ;bt

You can attach one picture with the attachment option listed below the area you post on. There you can browse your own files for the pic you want and it will upload to my server. However, If you want to post more than one picture using the [img] brackets, then you must have it on a server somewhere. Some forums give you that option. If you don't have a server to upload your pics to, then try putting all four pics together, with an image editor, such as "Image Composer" or "Photo Shop" and then down size it to a reasonable size, no more than 200,000 bytes and use the attachment option I mentioned prior, once it's combined as one pic. Good luck and let me know if you need more help.
