Speaker Noise

I suddenly have loud unwanted noise coming through my rear speaker (drivers side)...I think it is just from that particular one....not sure.... I have a '92 convertible....it goes away for short periods if I turn the radio off & on.....Is it a speaker or does my car have individual amps? Can I just disconnect the speaker for now? I have the premium factory Bose radio in my car. Anyone able to help me out on this? :(

It's a common problem. The capacitors in the amplifiers break down and must be replaced. I would recommend if only one is defected, I would send out all four, because eventually soon they'll be going also. If you know how to work on the capacitors, you can order them and repair them yourself, and save yourself a lot of money.
