If all the display is working but it is very dim what could be the problem?

I think I might have screwed up, where exactly is the photocell that controls the dash brightness? I recently installed a carbon fiber dress up kit on the dash, possibly I may have covered up the photocell? Now that I think about it, the problems started after I put the dash kit in....
