What's the top speed you've gone with your hardtop?

With the '99 FRC, I've been to 165 MPH, with a Sheriff in the passenger seat!:)

With the Z06, I've made 142 before I had to shut down.:( Hope to remedy that real soon!;)

Was 140 mph once, with my 79 y.o. Mother-in-law riding shotgun!:eek:

She was watching everything ... looked over at the speedometer... leaned over to me and said, "I like going fast"...

For 79 years of age, 80 in March, she would give most women a run for their money in the coolness department!:)

163 mph Afterwards I realized I had a death grip on the wheel and my knuckels where white. I haven't been above 150 since :D

Two of us, my red '99 and my buddy's black '00 went 166 at Big Bend this year. And, believe me, there was more but we didn't want to get disqualified by going over our tech speed limit. Another friend clocked 187 in his modified LT4, but that's another story. - C.

I just got my '99 about a week and a half ago. Bringing it home I had to open it up. I figured if anything is going to go wrong, its' better now. Well, New Jersey doesn't have too many road to get on it where I am, and the troopers are all over, but I found a strip and took it to around 147:nono: and there was much more room to go. I have a '63 split window fuelie. It's a show winner, they didn't build many and the highest I got that up to was around 124 mph. Shook a little bit, but it's nothing like the Hardtop. I didn't even feel like I was going 147 in the Hardtop. I rather not run them, I'd rather show them. But, I'm sure there will be another time I'll get an itchy foot:D :D
