I have an '87 corvette that intermitently flashs "check engine soon." It reads code 36 which is MAF sensor or ignition. I have replaced the MAF as well as plugs, cables, and rotar. It still flashes "check engine soon" from time to time when I start the car. Anyone have any ideas. It seems to run just fine. Thanks
Try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes and then reconnect. See if this clears your codes and fixes your problem

Thanks for the suggestion to disconnect the battery and reset the computer. I did this however after two days the light came back on when I started the car. For next several days the light has not come back on. Could it be a loose wire, or bad relay?
Certain "codes", once corrected, will take a certain number of engine cycles to "clear" and stop appearing, as it seems as if this is the case with you.
If the light is only flashing momentarily, when you first start the car and then going out, no worry. This is only a "check" system itself, to let you know that the system is working as is the case with other "warning" lights that momentarily flash when you start the car and then go out.
It is only when the "warning" lights come on and stay on that you should concern yourself.

The check engine light comes on and stays on until the engine is shut off. However, the next time the car is started it may or may not be on at all. It has never blinked. It has now not come on for 6 days, which is included at least one of two short trips each day.
Thanks for suggestions.
