84 Crossfire Induction

I have a 1984 with the original ceasfire induction. It runs extremely rich. Lots of black smoke out the exhaust. What is a cheap solution or possible cause of the problem

It could be your timing. What is the mileage?

It has 166,000 miles and is about ready for a rebuild. Haven't had time or money to do yet, just trying to get it to run a little better.
