oops. I did not mean to do that. Anyways, my 85 overheats if you idle it for a little while, like if your creeping along in traffic. But it operates at normal when going down the road. I pulled in my driveway while it was at about 225 degrees and opened the hood. The big fan that you can see was not turning at all. I could hear another fan running but could not see it. I am thinking that this car had the optional 2nd fan on it. I shut the car off for about three minutes and then the big fan started turning but it looked slower than the normal speed should be. Now again, it does not turn at all. and the car wants to overheat while idleing Could it be a relay or the fan motor itself???? Was looking for some imput.

Thanks

Hi I had the same problem with my 89 vette so I took it to the auto electricians and had it wired so it came on when the ignition is turned on and it runs at about 180 max in traffic now

Hi All,
I tapped the fan motor with a screwdriver and it came on. So I picked up a new fan motor and boom! It was running again. Sometimes it can be the simplest of problems.
