Heater Core replacement

I have to replace the heater core on our 1990 C-4. Again the "Haynes Manual" is lacking in the tear down preocedure; particulary removing the "upper dash pad." Can you provide a detail on how to do this or advise where I can get the info. Thanks... Sneakers
