I made a recent trip to my home in Canada to start my '73 454 Vette after 10+ years. When I touched the positive lead to the battery a small fire started on the wiring at the starter solenoid.

Upon inspection (after putting out the fire by blowing on it), I found the wires to be damaged and melted together. Poor shape from all the years sitting and of course the fire.

I need to make another trip before shipping the car to Colorado via intercity lines, and need to find an engine wiring harness for this car. I think this may be the easiest fix. I changed the starter solenoid and the starter is being taken to a shop to be checked.

Any ideas here? Where to get a new harness or used one from a dry climate say Phoenix?
Thanks in advance.

Perfect. Thanks this will help!

I am still finding out where to get good Vette stuff. I have been tinkering on Land Rovers and Porsche for the last 10 years and getting back into the Vette. I appreciate the assistance.

You can also do a google search "corvette parts catalog" and find many places to go. The major ones are Ecklers, MidAmerica, Corvette America, Paddocks, Volunteer Products, Chicago Corvette Supply, and Corvette Central.
