HI, I have a 95 Corvette with 74,000 miles on it. I have only had it for a couple months. It looks like the shocks are the original ones, they are Bilstien shocks. I want to put new shocks on it and I don't know if it's worth spending $300 for a set of shocks. I can get a set of Monroe Sensatrac shocks for half the price. I am mainly looking for a smooth ride, I don't plan on taking any 100 mile corners any time soon. I will get the Bilstien shocks if they will give me the best ride. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks Hello Bradtims, the Bilstein shocks are definitely worth the money. Do to their design they can give a relatively smooth ride and very good handling. The overall ride is affected by the type of suspension you have. Do you have the heavy duty suspension option? The monroe shocks will not necessarily give you a better ride. As the original bilsteins were designed to wwork with your springs and sway bars. You might want to check with Auto Zone they do sell Bilstein shocks and may be more reasonably priced. I hope this helps.:chevy: MKOTZE

I think I have the Z51 suspension, but i'm not sure. How do I tell for sure which suspension I have? Bilstein offers a heavy duty and a sport shock for this car. I am guessing I want the heavy duty, I am thinking that the sport shock would be stiffer. Is that right?

Under lid on car jack compartment behind the passeger seat check the RPO numbers and letters and list them here to decode for you.
