Door Glass

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF SCRATCHES ON THE DOOR GLASS THAT IS FOUND ON ALMOST EVERY C3? MY VETTE HAS THEM AND IM FIXING TO REPLACE THE GLASS WITH NEW ONES AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW BEFORE DAMAGE IS DONE TO THE NEW GLASS S. I JUST REPLACED THE OUTER GLASS SEALS, THE OLD ONES WERE VERY WORN AND DRY CRACKED. DO YOU THINK THAT WAS CAUSING IT??

You'll find this to be a very easy thing to correct. When you remove the door panel, and you see the top part of the frame of the door, where the top of the door panel locks in, you'll see two metal guide brackets that have a felt runner on them. These felt runners usually wear down to the metal and start scratching the window. These can be bought at Ecklers, Stoudts Corvettes, Corvette Central or any other Corvette parts specialists. Very easy fix. Hope this helps....good luck.;bt
